23.8.2010 - Drums, guitars and bass recorded, vocals and keyboards postponed
The period of August 18th to 22nd was very fruitful at D-Studio, and we got all the drum tracks, bass tracks and guitar tracks (including acoustic guitars and guitar solos) down. Everything sounds really cool so far! Unfortunately Maija was unable to record any of her vocals, keyboards or tin whistle parts at this time due to a high fever, a sore throat and remnants of an ear infection. Because of the situation, we had to cut the recording sessions a little short after five days in the studio. The recording of the new EP will continue in September 6th, so just hold on to something for a couple of more weeks...
17.8.2010 - Korpikuusen Kyynel hits the studio
Korpikuusen Kyynel will travel to D-Studio, Klaukkala to record the new, yet untitled EP! The EP will contain four songs, and the release date will be somewhere near the end of September. Artwork and lyrics will be released on this site before the actual CD comes out, so stay tuned! We'll also shoot some video of the recording sessions, which will go on from August 18th to 23rd, 2010. It's about time we record something new, it's been almost two years since our first demo came out! Hell yeah!!

A very flattering article by Anders Eklund about the joint concert of Korpikuusen Kyynel, A Million Miles Away (GER), Manzana and For Selena And Sin at S-Osis, Turku in April 2nd, 2010 as part of the Female Fronted Metal Tour 2010 can be found at Peppar.fi (In Swedish)! We were overwhelmed to witness the praise towards Korpikuusen Kyynel in the article: "...The last (band) in the quartet, and the most interesting one, is Korpikuusen Kyynel from Turku. Unfortunately, the band is still unknown and has yet to release a full-length album. However, there is potential, particularly in Maija Nyström, who is by far the most talented singer of the tour line-up. Her tone and voice tremendously resemble those of Lotta Höglin from the Swedish band Beseech (at present retired). In a better world, Korpikuusen Kyynel should immediatelly get a record contract."
12.2.2010 - Korpikuusen Kyynel plays for future prospect athletes in Turku
A number of future prospects are celebrated and awarded at Vimma, Turku in February 12th. Korpikuusen Kyynel would like to congratulate and encourage all youth athletes present to continue on their chosen path, and what better way to do that than give one hell of a show, right?! 16.1.2010 - Korpikuusen Kyynel live interview @ Radio Zoom FM, Fri 21.1.2010
Korpikuusen Kyynel will appear live as Jaakko Laurila's guest at Zoom FM on Friday, January 21st starting at about 21:30 (9:30 P.M.). The band will be interviewed, and for one thing we'll discuss the Finland qualifiers for the Eurovision song contest that will be ongoing at the time of the program. 12.1.2010 - 20th gig of Korpikuusen Kyynel confirmed!
Gig number #20 has just been confirmed for Korpikuusen Kyynel! The show will be played in S-Osis, Turku on January 23rd, 2010 (Saturday). The band line-up for the show is amazing, as Raven Claw from Kuopio and Like Tomorrow from Eura will join us on stage! Raven Claw brings aggressive thrash metal to fellow head-bangers and beer-drinkers, and Like Tomorrow delivers female fronted cleverly constructed metal in orchestral precision! This is definitely a show not to miss, check out the bands' music here:
Korpikuusen Kyynel hasn't been out there for a while to play live, but now there will be two concerts in Turku during the next month (click here for complete schedule). All head-bangers are very welcome to see us at Klubi, November 17th (Tuesday) with Bad King, Corona Skies and Drowlich and of course at Rokkibaari, December 5th (Saturday) with Nodding Sky. Can't wait to see you there!
We deeply regret to announce that due to a memorial service to be held on Saturday 31st of October in Jyväskylä, we are left with no choice but to cancel our gig in Rokkibaari, Turku. We wish to express our deepest consolidations to the family members in mourning, and apologize for inconveniences upon cancelling our show.
Alasin will replace us and perform together with Raven Claw in Rokkibaari on October 31st.

Season Of Gray video is taking part in Voice TV's national music video contest, Garage Countdown! The contest runs from August 26th till December 19th 2009. Words can't even describe how long and eagerly we've been waiting for this to happen, but finally, Season Of Gray promotional video is out! 12.7.2009 - Joni Meriläinen is off the band
Unfortunatelly, we have to inform you that we let our brand new bass player Joni Meriläinen go, as he wasn't committed to the band. So this means we're now looking for a new bass player again. If you think you might enjoy playing bass and hanging with us, don't be afraid to contact us right away. The band is of course taking full advantage of this extended period without any live shows, working hard on new material that's gonna kick all of yer butts like hell!!!
1.6.2009 - New training facilities
Korpikuusen Kyynel is officially based in Turku, Finland as of today! We will be practicing in the center of Turku in a private space from now on, as opposed to the dear old training space we've used up until this point, located in Rymättylä. Although we do miss the old training space where the magic of Korpikuusen Kyynel has been happening from the start, this means we'll be able to spend loads of more time on the actual training and composing, instead of travelling. This change will definately also encourage us to train a lot more often from now on.

3.3.2009 - Sense the Dreadful Presence review published at Imperiumi.net
The third official review of Sense the Dreadful Presence was published at Imperiumi.net. The demo received 4+/5 stars, which further contributes to its critical success! We are very happy about the reception of the three-track demo and certainly feel extremely motivated to keep making more music.
The search is over - we are very proud to announce that Joni Meriläinen will take over the bass player duties in Korpikuusen Kyynel! The decision was easy for us to make, as Joni fits right in our crew and most importantly, the guy is a wicked bass player that truly inspires the rest of the band. We're really excited to bring the new line up to the stage very soon!

30.1.2009 - www.korpikuusenkyynel.com renewal has started
Our web page is currently experiencing a complete change. A new structure, added features and enhanced graphical layout will be implemented during the course of the next few weeks. The tentative new engine was completed, and the site will gradually gain its new looks. Today the news page was renovated and guestbook feature added! Check back often to witness the complete morphing of www.korpikuusenkyynel.com into a grander and cooler entity.
3.1.2009 - Bass player spot still open
One month ago, we announced the departure of our bass player. About half a dozen bassists have contacted us after that, expressing their interest toward the band. Some of the candidates have been very promising, but we have not filled the bass player spot yet. If you are interested, go ahead and contact us!
